Seeds of Destiny 30 March 2019 Devotional – Dedication: Seriousness with God

[ad_1]

Topic: Dedication: Seriousness with God [Seeds of Destiny 30 March 2019 Devotional]

Seriousness with God means the refusal to exist as an average or nominal Christian.

SCRIPTURE: Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Romans 12:11

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Seriousness with God means the refusal to exist as an average or nominal Christian.

Dedication to God is key to standing out in life and destiny. People who are dedicated to God are distinguished by Him. Dedicated people stand out in their generation. Therefore, understanding what it takes to be dedicated is understanding what it takes to stand out in life.

Now, what is Dedication?

It is being serious with God.

Now, let me tell you what it means to be serious with God; it means:

i. Being busy for God

Seriousness with God means being busy for God; a dedicated person is someone who is busy for God.

ii. Not taking one’s relationship with God for granted

To be serious with God is to refuse to take one’s relationship with God for granted. A dedicated person does not take his relationship with God lightly.

iii. Refusal to exist as an average Christian

Seriousness with God means the refusal to exist as an average or nominal Christian. When you are serious with God, no one can say that you are a nominal Christian.

iv. Refusal to be an ordinary church goer or an ordinary bench warmer

To be serious with God is to refuse to be an ordinary church goer or a bench warmer but rather a dedicated and committed person to the cause of God and His Church. To be serious with God is to refuse to belong to the crowd of ordinary Christians or the crowd of ordinary parishioners. That was the kind of man Elijah was (1 Kings 17:1).

Beloved, make up your mind to be serious with God.

Remember this: Seriousness with God means the refusal to exist as an average or nominal Christian.

ASSIGNMENTS:

Be busy for God in advancing His Cause and enlarging His Kingdom on earth.Refuse to live a lifestyle of mediocrity.

PRAYER: O Lord, I refuse to exist as an average Christian or a benchwarmer in church. Help me to be on fire for You, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: Hold the Forth (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 30 March 2019)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Joshua 9-10; Luke 5:17-39

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Revelation 2:9-11

MEMORY VERSE: “When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.” – Isaiah 43:2

The MESSAGE:

The message of the Lord to the church at Smyrna reveals the experience of many believers today who are facing terrible persecution in some nations of the world. As in the case of the assembly at Smyrna who were persecuted for the faith, no matter what experience God’s people may have, the Lord will always identify with them.

There is a shocking revelation in the word of the Lord to the Christians in Smyrna. Even though they suffered tribulation and abject material poverty, the Lord still recognised them as rich. They lived for eternal values that would never change, riches that could never be taken away. Even though poor by economic standards, they were the ones making many others rich (2 Corinthians 6:10). In fact, their suffering for Christ only increased their riches.

Our struggles are not with flesh and blood, but with the enemy, satan, who uses people to accomplish his evil purposes. As a child of God, you may not have enjoyed the approval of men for your faith, but certainly you will receive the commendation of God. Do not be afraid and never surrender to wicked persecutions. We must learn from the Smyrna Christians. The Lord assured them that He knew the devil’s plans and was in complete control of the situation. Some of the believers would be imprisoned and tried as traitors in Rome. Yet their tribulation would not be long. The important thing was faithfulness, standing true to Christ no matter what the persecutors might threaten to do. This is a clear message for those facing extreme torments and persecution as a result of their faith.

The Lord reinforced the promise given in James 1:12, “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.” The Lord assured His people that there was nothing to fear. Because they had trusted Him, they were overcomers -victors in the race of faith. And, as overcomers, they had nothing to fear. Even if they were martyred, they would be ushered into glory, wearing crowns! They would never face the awful judgement of the second death, which is the lake of fire (Revelation 20:14, 21:8).

It sometimes costs to be a dedicated Christian in some places more than others. As end time pressures increase, persecution will also increase; and God’s people need to be ready. The world may call us “poor Christians”, but in God’s sight we are rich! The world may burn down our churches, but we must not be intimidated. They may cast us into prison but we must not yield to their pressure. Always bear in mind that the Lord knows what we are passing through and is rightly on our side to strengthen us. You must keep in mind that only those who overcome shall not be hurt by the second death. Maranatha!

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:MERCY, GRACE AND HELP TO HOLD THE FORTH ARE AVAILABLE AT THE THRONE OF GRACE.

PROPHETIC WORD: Hold the forth; Jesus is coming.

TREM Devotional 30 March 2019 – Witness Your Faith

[ad_1]

Topic: Witness Your Faith [TREM Devotional 30 March 2019]

‘’But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you and ye shall be witnesses unto me’’ –ACTS 1:8 KJV

I come to challenge you today to take a quality decision to always witness your faith. The events of today in our very unstable world confirm that Jesus is coming soon. Therefore, as a child of God, you have a responsibility to witness your faith everywhere you go. Don’t be a ‘secret service Christian.’ Let people know you are saved. Remember your salvation cost God the blood of His Son and there is nothing to be ashamed about. The Apostle Paul boldly declares this fact in Romans 1:16. He says “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greeks.’’

Beloved, you cannot afford to be ashamed of the gospel, because therein lies the power of God unto salvation. You also cannot afford to keep quiet in this day and hour when people are daily streaming into a godless eternity. When you talk about Jesus and His saving grace, you are witnessing your faith. You are helping to change the lives and destinies of others around you. Don’t just say ‘it doesn’t concern me.’

The woman at the well of Samaria did not know much of the scriptures, but after her encounter with Jesus, she went to town and told the people in her neighbourhood about her personal encounter. And because they all knew her, they decided to come and see the man who changed her story. You might not be able to preach but I am sure you also have a story or an encounter to talk about. That is witnessing! It would encourage someone to depend solely on God and before you know it, a soul is won. Make Christ known in your neighbourhood, office or market place. Be assured that as you labour in His vineyard, He will also labour in your vineyard.

Topic Seek to Understand [Open Heavens for Teens 30 March 2019]

Memorise: “Wisdom is the principal thing, therefore get wisdom; and with all thy getting get understanding.” – Proverbs 4:7

Read: Proverbs 4:5-9

5 Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.

6 Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.

7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

8 Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.

9 She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.

Bible In One Year: Judges 1-2, Luke 7:1-30

MESSAGE:

These days, teenagers are always in a hurry, and in your hurry, you never seem to get the depths of the things happening around you. In school the aim of most of you is just to pass your exams, it never really matters if you understand what is being taught; you just want to get to the next class. This is a very wrong attitude. There is a reason why your parents work hard to send you to school and its your duty to work hard to not only graduate from that school, but also learn all you can from the school.

You have to understand that what you just hear will have no impact on you. What you cram can bring you little, but what you learn and understand can change your life for the better. Many people only hear or cram what the teacher/lecturer says, that’s why these days, we have so called mechanical engineers who cannot repair even a bicycle. If you claim to have heard an information and you don’t understand it enough to put it to use, then you are as good as not hearing it. Besides, what you know is for your own good; the knowledge you acquire can never be taken from you, so why not take the time to actually understand?

Prayer Point:If you don’t understand what you are taught, ask questions until you understand.

Hymn 6:

Our God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Our shelter from the stormy blast,
And our eternal home:Under the shadow of your throne
Your saints have dwelt secure;
Sufficient is your arm alone,
And our defense is sureBefore the hills in order stood
Or earth received its frame,
From everlasting you are God,
To endless years the same.A thousand ages in your sight
Are like an evening gone
Short as the watch that ends the night
Before the rising sun.Time, like an ever-rolling stream,
Soon bears us all away;
We fly forgotten, as a dream
Does at the opening day.Our God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Still be our guard while troubles last,
And our eternal home!

This cup is the new covenant [ratified and established] in My blood. – 1 Corinthians 11:25, The Amplified Bible

New Covenant. It’s a familiar phrase to most of us. But do we really know what it means?

No we don’t. Because if we did, every one of us would be faith a giant. Instead of struggling, “trying” to believe the promises of God, we’d be like Abraham: “Strong in faith…fully persuaded that, what [God] had promised, he was also able to perform” (Romans 4:20-21).

That’s the kind of confidence that welled up in Abraham when God cut the covenant with him. It was an inferior covenant to ours, made with the blood of animals. Yet it transformed a doubting Abraham into the very father of faith. Why? Because, Abraham understood the significance of it.

He knew that entering into the covenant of blood meant you were totally and forever giving yourself away to someone else. Once you did it, nothing would ever be exclusively yours again. All that you were, all that you had or ever would have became the equal property of your covenant partner.

During the covenant ceremony in Abraham’s day, the partners exchanged coats, each one giving their authority to the other. They exchanged weapons as a way of saying, “Your enemies are now my enemies. I’ll fight your fights as if they were my own.” They walked through the blood of slain animals, pronouncing their loyalty to one another, even to the death.

When God made covenant with him, Abraham knew there was no longer any room for doubt. God had proven how intensely He desired to be God to him. He’d given him everything He had and bound Himself to Abraham in a relationship that could not be dissolved. Abraham comprehended the gravity of a covenant agreement. It convinced him once and for all that God’s promises could be trusted. It became an anchor to his soul.

Do you want to be a faith giant like Father Abraham? Then dig in to the covenant you have with God. Study it out in the Word. Let the Holy Spirit show you what really happened when Jesus became the sacrifice that ratified your covenant with God. Let Him show you what it meant when He gave you His Name (John 16:23), His authority (Matthew 28:18-20), His armor and weapons (Ephesians 6:10-17).

Once you realize what Jesus actually meant when He said, “This is the New Covenant established in My blood,” your life will never be the same again.

Andrew Wommack Devotional 30 March 2019 – Being Yoked To Jesus

[ad_1]

Topic: Being Yoked To Jesus [Andrew Wommack Devotional 30 March 2019]

Matthew 11:28-30, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Text: Matthew 11:20-30

Yokes were made of wood with two hollowed out sections on the bottom portion that rested on the necks of oxen, which used to plow or to draw a cart. Figuratively, a yoke symbolized servitude or submission. Jesus is admonishing us to submit ourselves to Him, for true rest comes from serving Him – not ourselves.

A new ox was often trained for plowing or drawing a cart by yoking him with an experienced ox. The yoke kept the young ox from “doing his own thing” and he soon learned obedience to his master. In like manner, we are to commit ourselves to being yoked to Jesus. “It is not in man that walketh to direct his steps” (Jer. 10:23). Therefore, we have to “bear the yoke in our youth” (Lam. 3:27) if we want to become mature Christians. The comparison ends at this point, though. Unlike the, sometimes, harsh treatment oxen are given to bring them into subjection, Jesus is “meek and lowly in heart,” and wins us by love. Jesus pulls more than His “share” of the load; therefore, our burden is light.

The most loving father in the world cannot compare with the love our Heavenly Father has for us. And yet, many times we find it easier to believe in the willingness of a father or mother or mate to help us than in the willingness of God to use His power on our behalf. Relatively few people really doubt God’s ability, but rather, it is our doubt of His willingness to use His ability on our behalf that causes most people to do without. Jesus assures us that God’s love, and His willingness to demonstrate that love, is far greater than we can ever experience in any human relationship. Not only does He want our love, but wants you to let Him love you today.
