TREM Devotional 28 March 2019 – What Are You Going To Do Differently?

Topic: What Are You Going To Do Differently? [TREM Devotional 28 March 2019]

“As Goliath moved closer to attack, David quickly ran out to meet him.” 1 Samuel 17:48 NLT

Beloved, I have come to challenge you and to move you out of that place of complacency. This season must be filled with outstanding testimonies for you. I am looking forward to hearing about your great exploits in the news media. In order for this to happen, child of God, you must arise. Albert Einstein said “insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.” The question is, what have you done differently? How have you stepped out of your ‘comfort zone’ to ensure that your goals become a reality? How have you approached that difficult issue with doggedness, saying to yourself ‘there must be a way’?

We are all very familiar with the story of David and Goliath. David brought down the giant that was terrorizing the entire nation. Our text points out something very key, it says David ran towards Goliath. Imagine an enormous and terrifying giant approaching you, the normal reaction is to take off in whatever direction you can, and hide yourself, but not David. “…He quickly ran out to meet him.” That action alone aided David’s victory because I can bet you Goliath was not expecting it. And so the shock alone from this little guy running quickly towards him must have destabilized him. And before he knew it, the stone sunk into his skull, and he was on the ground. Why? Because one person understood who he was in the Lord and decided to act differently. When you truly understand who you are, you won’t act and respond to situations like everyone else.

Child of God, what are you going to do differently that will put you at the cutting edge? How are you going to reposition yourself to enjoy all that God has in store for you? This is your hour and your moment and it is irreversible. But you must not do the same things that haven’t produced good results in your life. Otherwise, you would remain at the same position.

DCLM Daily Manna 28 March 2019 – He Who Never Forgets

Topic: He Who Never Forgets [DCLM Daily Manna 28 March 2019 Daily Devotional by Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]

Text: Exodus 25:23-30 (KJV)

Key Verse: “And thou shalt set upon the table shewbread before me alway” (Exodus 25:30).

MESSAGE:

Noble Luther once said, “…the little bird upon the tree, he hath fed himself tonight – he knoweth not where his breakfast is tomorrow. He sitteth there while the winds rock the tree; he shuts his eyes, puts his head under his wing, and sleeps; and, when he awakes in the morning sings Mortals cease from toil and sorrow; God provideth for the morrow.” Such should be the confidence with which we must carry on as God’s children who live daily in His presence.

The table of shewbread was to be set before God always by the Hebrew priests of ancient Israel, with the golden dish of frankincense continually sending forth its sweet fragrance as a memorial to remind Him of His promised mercies, care and provision for His children. The twelve large unleavened cakes of the shewbread representing the twelves tribes of Israel were placed on a table made of wood, overlaid with gold to stand in the outer tabernacle. The bread was renewed every Sabbath day. The stale leaves were given to the priests for their domestic use.

The shewbread or bread which was set forth would be more fairly described as “bread of His presence” since it was continually laid out in God’s presence. It had all the characteristics and significance of a great national meat offering, in which the twelve tribes were represented by twelves cakes. Every Israelite had the comforting assurance that as his tribe was represented by that continual offering, all his needs are provided for, and that Jehovah would never forget him.

If an Israelite under the old covenant could be assured of God’s abiding presence and His abundant provision, you should be more assured that God will never forget you. He will move you from disappointment to His appointment.

MFM Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional 28 March 2019 By Dr. D.K Olukoya – Dangers of Leaving God Out Of the Calculation (VI)

TOPIC: Dangers of Leaving God Out Of the Calculation (VI) (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 28 March 2019)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Judges 4-6; Luke 4:31-44

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Genesis 13:10-13

MEMORY VERSE: “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” – Proverbs 14:12

The MESSAGE:

Lot had a great opportunity to become a man of God as he walked with Abraham, but he was more interested in the blessings he could get through the man of God. His attitude is typical of the many sycophants that surround the men of God today. They have conditional loyalty, focussing mainly on their personal gains from their privileged position. The slightest sign of things working contrary to their expectation would unveil their colour and expose their closeness to the man of God. Rather than seek to be anointed like the man of God, they concentrate on the financial blessings flowing from his office to the detriment of their personal relationship with God.

Lot failed to develop his relationship with God. He did not build an altar where he could call on the Lord for divine direction in choosing a safe location. First, he looked toward Sodom (Genesis 13:10), then he moved toward Sodom (Genesis 13:11-12) and finally, he moved into Sodom (Genesis 14:12). Instead of being a pilgrim who made progress, Lot regressed into the world and away from God’s blessing (Psalm 1:1). He “journeyed east” (Genesis 13:11) and turned his back on Bethel (“the house of God”) and to Ai (Genesis 12:8). The people in Sodom may not have appeared wicked to Lot, but they were wicked as far as God was concerned and His evaluation is all that matters. He detached from the friend of God and pitched tent with the enemies of God. What do you consider the end of such a person would be?

On the other hand, Abraham let God choose for him. After Lot had gone away, Abraham had another meeting with the Lord (Genesis 13:14-18). Lot had lifted up his eyes and seen what the world had to offer; now God invited Abraham to lift up his eyes and see what heaven had to offer. Lot chose a piece of land which he finally lost but God gave Abraham the whole land which still belongs to him and his descendants. Lot had said, “I will take.” God said to Abraham, “I will give.” What a contrast! Lot lost his family, but Abraham was promised a family so large it could not be counted. Lot was living for the people, but Abraham was trusting God for the impossible. “Lift up your eyes and look” was followed by “Lift up your feet and walk” (Genesis 13:17). The discipline Abraham experienced in going down to Egypt had taught him to respect boundaries, so now God could trust him with horizons. It is your faith in God that determines how much of His blessing you will enjoy.

Satan wants to use circumstances, people, and things to tempt you and bring out the worst in you, but God also wants to use them to test you and bring out the best in you. Abraham failed the test of famine because he resorted to faith in man’s wisdom instead of faith in God’s word. But he passed the test of conflict with Lot, because he let God take control. Lot, however, failed to let God be God in his life and for this reason, satan could easily sift him like wheat. Lot and his family got entangled with the sinners of Sodom and easily got completely carried away by the worldly enjoyment of Sodom. Lot later became a victim of many unfavourable circumstances. He was a war captive; he lost his sons in law; he lost all his wealth; he lost his wife; and eventually lost his integrity by impregnating his two daughters.

As a believer who has fallen into the world’s snares or comes dangerously near to them, you must learn that it is not safe to leave the paths marked out by Divine Providence. While we are in the path of Providence, we may expect divine direction, but when we leave the paths of Providence, we are thrown upon the resources of our own wisdom and strength, and can only expect failure. Every step we take from the paths of Providence only increases the difficulty of returning. We must also realise that the friendship of the world involves deep spiritual loss like in Abraham’s case and finally that the soul’s safety is best secured by revisiting the scenes where God was first felt and known. Consecrate yourself afresh to God, and walk your way into full restoration.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE: IT IS DANGEROUS TO RUN AHEAD OF GOD.

PROPHETIC WORD: The Lord shall make you a mysterious wonder.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

You snare of Sodom and Gomorrah, release my life by fire, in the name of Jesus.Spirit of covetousness influencing my life negatively, I bind and cast you out of my life, in the name of Jesus.Any power dragging me out of my place of divine cover, fall down and die, in the name of Jesus. EVENINGEmptiers and wasters assigned against my life and family, catch fire and burn to ashes, in the name of Jesus.O God arise and establish me in my place of divine location, in the name of Jesus.Anything in me that wants to destroy my destiny, be flushed out by fire, in the name of Jesus.O God, open my eyes to see wondrous things You have prepared for my life, in the name of Jesus.

Seeds of Destiny 28 March 2019 Devotional – Dedication: Commitment to the Cause of God

[ad_1]

Topic: Dedication: Commitment to the Cause of God [Seeds of Destiny 28 March 2019 Devotional]

You cannot really encounter Jesus and not be on fire to do something for God.

SCRIPTURE: And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do. Acts 9:6

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You cannot really encounter Jesus and not be on fire to do something for God.

Dedication to God is a major obligation of every genuine child of God. It is the pathway to fulfilling destiny. God created us for a purpose; His desire for our lives is for us to become all that He created us to be on the Earth.

Now, one pathway to fulfilling God’s purpose for our lives is living a life of dedication to God. Therefore, it is very important to understand what dedication is all about.

Dedication to God means commitment to the cause of God on the earth.

Now, what does it mean to be committed to the cause of God on Earth?

i. Brutal commitment to kingdom assignment

Commitment to the cause of God on the Earth means brutal commitment to Kingdom assignment (1 Samuel 17:29). When a person is dedicated to God, there is a die-less commitment to the purpose of God on the earth. A dedicated person has a die-less and brutal commitment to Kingdom agenda and the purpose of God on the earth. This means that God cannot be working and they are standing idly by without doing anything. Dedicated people cannot be onlookers in the house of God.

Let me give you a practical example: When I rededicated my life to Christ in those days, I went to a fellowship on campus for the first time and began to clean the chairs; I swept the place and then stood at the entrance of the building and began to usher in those coming in for the service. I did that because there was a burning passion and fire of dedication in me and I wanted to do something for God. When Paul the apostle encountered God, the first thing he asked was, ‘Lord what will you have me do?’ (Acts 9:5).

Beloved, you cannot really encounter Jesus and not be on fire to do something for God. So, it is an abomination for you to be in church for donkey years and no one has felt your impact in church.

Remember this: You cannot really encounter Jesus and not be on fire to do something for God.

ASSIGNMENTS:

Make up your mind to develop an unquenchable passion for God’s House like Jesus (Luke 2:17)Be committed to the development of the house of the Lord and Kingdom assignment.

PRAYER: O Lord, I receive the grace to be committed first to You and Your House. Help me to release myself and resources for the advancement of Your Kingdom on earth, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

Bible In One Year: Joshua 21:22, Luke 6:1-26

MESSAGE:

Most of you teenagers have never really given any thoughts to the phenomenon called time, and so you have no idea how important it is. Time is man’s most valuable resource, but unfortunately, most people treat it like cheap commodity that can be found everywhere. When you realise how limited and valuable time actually is, you will become wiser. Fortunately for you, as a teenager, you still have much time ahead of you, but don’t be deceived by this, time has a way of flying, if you don’t begin to use your time wisely from now, you will soon realise that you have wasted valuable years of your life.

To wisely use your time, you have to make scheduling a habit. Scheduling your days helps you to maximize your productivity. Scheduling your days in turn calls for goal setting. If you don’t have goals to pursue, you will just be living aimlessly. Break down these goals and then attach time frames to them. If you do this as you ought to, very soon, people will celebrate you for your achievements.

Key Point:Time is life, don’t waste it.

Hymn 6:

Our God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Our shelter from the stormy blast,
And our eternal home:Under the shadow of your throne
Your saints have dwelt secure;
Sufficient is your arm alone,
And our defense is sureBefore the hills in order stood
Or earth received its frame,
From everlasting you are God,
To endless years the same.A thousand ages in your sight
Are like an evening gone
Short as the watch that ends the night
Before the rising sun.Time, like an ever-rolling stream,
Soon bears us all away;
We fly forgotten, as a dream
Does at the opening day.Our God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Still be our guard while troubles last,
And our eternal home!

Memorise: “And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”- Matthew 3:17

Read: 1 John 3:7-10 (KJV)

7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

Bible in One Year: Colossians 1-4, Jeremiah 6:22-7:7

Open Heaven 28 March 2019 Thursday MESSAGE:

We live in times when most people are ruled by their senses. Therefore, for us to effectively reach the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ, the message of the gospel must be manifested for them to see. In other words, we must live out the message as delivered to us by the Lord and His early apostles. The most effective way to win this generation is to demonstrate the power of God practically for them to see, hear and touch. No wonder Apostle John wrote in 1 John 1:1&3:

“1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; 3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.”

The God of heaven must confirm our claims that we belong to Him and that we are His ambassadors on earth, both in holiness and prosperity, just as He testified to the truth of our Lord Jesus Christ by speaking from heaven and demonstrating His power through Him (Matthew 3:17). What the Father did for Jesus, He can do for us, because as the Father has loved Him, so does He love us (John 15:9).

When a person becomes born again, he or she takes on the divine nature of God that does not accommodate sin. In other words, a born again person is now triumphant over sin, and sin has no compelling power over him or her. 1 John 3:9 says:

“Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.”

If this is true, how come we hear about some Christians being caught in terrible sins that even some unbelievers naturally abhor? The reason is simple: even though God has transformed your spirit to have the capacity to sin no more, you still have the right of freewill which God gave to man in the beginning. Just like Adam misused his freewill, a child of God can misuse his freewill and walk voluntarily into sin. However, the truth remains that when a man is born again, he becomes a new creature; old things are passed away and the fellow begins to live an acceptable and godly life that is practically impossible for those who have not tasted God’s gift of salvation. From that time onward, the seed of God that is in that fellow begins to produce the fruit of the Holy Spirit that would not allow the works of the flesh to manifest in such a life (Galatians 5:19-25). When we begin to live by the pattern that Jesus placed before us, the world will realize that we have something that they do not have, and they will come seeking to learn from us about Jesus that has made a difference in our lives.
